A garden and a tower in the sunshine...

We drove from Rouen back to Versailles... to see the garden only... in the sunshine this time!

Then we returned to Chatillon and waited eagerly for the new tram (opened 13/12)...We enjoyed our first ride but some of us walked home in the evening as it was absolutely FULL of people!

The weather was just right for a sky high view of Paris so we decided to bring forward Bethany's birthday plans - and go up the Tour Eiffel.

Up the stairs to the second level - good exercise and a chance to admire the incredible ingenuity in building such a tower in 1889. The view over Paris was incredible - so many white buildings, and so many iconic monuments

Up the elevator to the top floor - the ride was incredible in itself, and the view extraordinary. We watched the sunset and then enjoyed the city light up in all its glory.

No wonder when Hitler flew over Paris he described her as an elegant old lady - beautiful with grey hair - and decreed that she must not be bombed.

Of course Elijah was keen to go down and play - but not today.

What a magical experience!
